Youth pays with life for calling someone monkey

Calling someone a monkey may cost a person's life, going by an incident here in which a remark made jokingly turned serious.

Arif (20) was last night shot dead by Salim at a place under Nakhasa police station here when he called the latter, a monkey, inviting his ire.

Additional SP Ram Murat Yadav said that a quarrel took place between the duo and then Salim shot Arif in his head from point blank range when he addressed him as a "monkey".

The body has been sent for postmortem, he said.
