Congress Should Own Responsibility For Mid-Term Polls, Says Cpm

The Congress should own full responsibility for forcing mid-term Lok Sabha elections on the people and the party should face the consequences for this, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) said yesterday.
In a political resolution adopted at the end of its 16th Tamil Nadu state conference, the CPI(M) said the Congress used the Jain commission report as a tool to expel the DMK from the United Front but when it failed, it withdrew support to the United Front government thus forcing elections on the unwilling people.
The BJP, it alleged, utilised the opportunity by encouraging defections using money power but failed.
