Foreign telecom companies are reviewing their investment plans in India in the light of the decisions taken by the government in the last few months, said a visiting delegation of American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) of Singapore.

"A large number of telecom companies are reviewing their investment decisions. The Indian telecom sector looks much more attractive today than it did six months ago. This is in response to the major decisions taken and being implemented by the government in the last two-and-a-half months," said Sanjay Chakrabarty of the consultancy firm, Arthur D Little. "There is a great interest in the telecom sector now," said Gary Wigmore, partner at legal services firm, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLF.

The delegation led by Marie Kissel, director, government affairs, DaimlerChrysler AG, included representatives of Ford International Business Development, Vinson & Elkins International Lawyers, Storagetek South Asia Pte Ltd and CSC Computer Sciences.
