Hong Kong spot gold and silver ended higher on Thursday on short-covering and physical demand, traders said. Bullion ended at $298.00/0.50 per ounce on Thursday compared with New York's previous close at $297.30/0.80 on Wednesday. Silver was quoted at $6.65/70 an ounce late in the day after it ended at $6.59/64 in New York on Wednesday.
