Inflation Slips To 17-Year Low Of 1.83%

The BSE-30 Sensex inched towards the coveted 5,000 mark barrier on Friday coming to within a 100 points of striking distance before closing at an all-time high of 4,870.66 points, still 130 points short of target. The S&P CNX Nifty, too, closed at an all-time high of 1,417.50 points a gain of 15 points over Thursday's close.
