London silver fixed at a 9-1/2-year high on Wednesday at 705 cents an ounce versus Tuesday's 638.50 cents, the highest since July 1988. Spot silver lay just off 9-1/2-year highs after the fix, priced at $6.99/$7.04 an ounce versus its Tuesday close in London of $6.55/$6.57 with some analysts predicting higher levels and others advising caution.
