Nasscom Signs Pact

Mational Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) yesterday signed a MoU with Camara Peruana de Software of Peru to promote the software industry between the two countries. The MoU was signed during a visit of the President of Peru Alberto Fujimori in India.

Speaking on the occasion Nasscom executive director, Dewang mehta, said, The MoU marks the beginning of Indias software trade with Peru. In thenlast few months, we have received a very encouraging response from many countries in latin America to cooperate with Indian software companies.

Mehta added that Masscom believes that in the year 2000, when total annual software exports from India would be about Rs 12,500 crore or $ 3.6 billion, software to latin America are expected to be inrange of rs 700 crore or $ 200 million. (ENDS)

 

Texprocil chairman G Devarajan, regretted ECs repeated attempts to hamper free flow of textile trade from developing countries to EU member states by taking recourse to anti-dumping measures to systematically target textile items exported from countries like India.
