The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (Hudco) has sanctioned a loan of Rs 22.64 crore to the Himachal Pradesh Housing Board under the Gandhi Kuteer Yojna to help economically weaker sections in rural areas, according to of Hudco chairman and managing director V Suresh. Suresh said the Himachal government plans to cover seven districts Bilaspur, Chamba, Kulu, Sirmaur, Una, Kangra, Solan, Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur and Shimla with the loan provided under the Hudco scheme. Hudco proposes to help the Housing Board in the construction of 14,081 dwellings with the project cost of Rs 27.50 crore. So far, Hudco has sanctioned 144 projects costing Rs 252.09 crore to the board and various other development agencies.(PTI) of the state government, Suresh said. The toatal loan commitment for the projects in the hill state is Rs 169.22 crore and Hudco has already released Rs 105.29 crore.
