Dell India on Tuesday announced changes in its leadership team in the country, especially in its Large Enterprise (LE) business unit. Sameer Garde, the country manager of Dell India who was also responsible for Dell’s LE business in India, will now move into an expanded role as the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) director for services, sales and marketing. He will continue to head Dell India as the country General Manager.

Large enterprise is one of Dell’s key segments in India, in which the company has been holding the number one position for last couple of years.

Prior to moving to the India sales organisation of the company in July 2005, Garde, who joined the company in April 2004, held many leadership roles in Dell International services as well as the Dell APJ region. In June 2008, he took over as the country GM for India after the then country head, Rajan Anandan, quit the company.

In his new role, Garde will be instrumental in driving the go-to-market strategy for Dell Services (erstwhile Perot Systems) in the APJ region. Dell Services is a crucial part of Dell’s strategy to redefine itself as a solutions provider and redefine the ecosystem of IT services, said the company.

Dell’s LE business unit in India will now be headed by Vikas Bhonsle, as the General Manager. Bhonsle, who has completed a 10-year association with Dell, was earlier leading the LE division of Dell India for the western region.

The company has also decided to move the Global Accounts Business out of the Large Enterprise business unit in India, and make it a part of the larger APJ Global 500 team. The company said it was part of its regional large enterprise strategy.
