eBay gets a new storefront

The e-commerce giant announced a strategic partnership with Raj Kundra-led Best Deal TV

BS Reporter Mumbai
eBay on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership with Raj Kundra-led Best Deal TV. eBay, the oldest e-commerce company in the country, reportedly inked this deal to expand its reach in the global market while targeting the Indian diaspora. The deal will tap into the celebrity-endorsed, Indian-made products sphere where the firm will target 25 million Indians living outside the country.

The US, sources said, will be their primary focus. This tie-up will help the firm sell India-made and designed jewellery and apparel outside the country. Kundra plans to add products such as the Ekta Kapoor saree collection, where customers will be able to purchase clothes worn by characters of her TV shows on this platform.

The storefront will cater to customers initially in the US, Australia and the UK after which it will expand to 17 countries in the next six months. eBay plans to use similar platforms to export handicrafts from state-owned emporiums as well as sporting gear exclusive to India in the future.
