A consortium led by HCL Infosystems has bagged a Rs 1,000-crore order, spread over 78 months, from the Madhya Pradesh government for setting up the country’s largest food coupon-based Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) in the state.
HCL Infosystems, the hardware and systems integration company, today signed the contract with the state government.
HCL Infosystems and its consortium partners, Accor Services and Virgo Softech, will set up the infrastructure for food and civil supplies distribution in the state, based on the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) guidelines. While Accor will offer the food coupon technology, Virgo will do data collection and digitization.
The project, which will be rolled out this month, intends to cover the entire state (50 districts and over 20,000 fair price shops) in four phases in the next 16-18 months.
