Mumbai top most city in internet penetration

Bangalore is sixth in list of internet penetration with 3.8 million internet users

Mumbai has emerged as the city with highest internet penetration in India over Bangalore, which is touted as the information technology (IT) capital of the country.

As per the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), Mumbai has 12 million internet users, followed by Delhi with 8.1 million users and Hyderabad with 4.7 million users.

Bangalore is the sixth in the list of internet penetration with 3.8 million internet users.

Kolkata emerged as the city with highest growth of internet users in 2013, as the city saw a 47% rise in internet adoption, IAMAI said. Ahmedabad registered the lowest growth rate among the top eight cities at 26%.
