It will be some time before I actually need a parenting app, but that dosn't stop mycity4kids from impressing me. This free to download app, available on the Google Play Store, brings to a single table a handy collection of all that a mother or father would need, during their child's growth years
Parenting is a very personal and intimate field of requirement. That is where a comprehensive approach helps.
The app lets the user arrange all his/her child's upcoming activities in a neat easy to access and catalogue calendar. It lets you locate resources according to what you may want: Events and workshops, seasonal camps, fun places to go, after-school activities, day care, school admissions, birthdays, health and wellness and places to shop. The search will be filtered by locality, sub categories and age group. Each particular event, place or service provider will be displayed with pictures, reviews and directions, and one can also directly contact a service provider just by clicking on the 'call' button.
What stands out is the access to parenting blogs. Instead of extensively surfing the net for the right blog, this app helps the user access the precise pages suitable to one's exact queries and needs.
The interface is clean and easy enough to handle.
The colours are bright, and a few more animations might lift the experience even more.
