Bank of India reported a 9.65 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 716 crore in the third quarter, primarily owing to robust contribution from its foreign business. The bank&rsquo;s profit from domestic operations fell to Rs 521 crore in the quarter from Rs 523 crore a year ago. Its net profit from foreign operations jumped 50 per cent to Rs 195 crore.

Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Limited (APPM) reported a net loss of Rs 21.43 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011, as against a net profit of Rs 8.2 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income stood at Rs 194 crore, up 10.28 per cent from Rs 175.91 crore. Expenditure increased 28.13 per cent to Rs 199.41 crore (Rs 155.63 crore).

AP Paper Mills net loss at Rs 21 cr

Total income of the company stood at Rs 417.42 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as against Rs 314.97 crore for the corresponding period previous fiscal, Divis Laboratories said in a filing to the BSE.

Himatsingka Seide, the Bangalore-based publicly-held company that focuses on home furnishings, reported a net profit of Rs 11.2 crore for the third quarter of FY12, compared with a loss of Rs 8 crore during the corresponding quarter of previous year. According to the company, it was hit by high prices of cotton during the corresponding previous quarter, the prices of which has since cooled down, leading to the company being in the black.
