Sasmos HET forms JV with Dutch firm Fokker

Sasmos HET Technologies Ltd, a part of auto component manufacturing major Rane Group, has entered into a joint venture with Dutch firm Fokker Technologies for the production of electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS) for aircraft and engines, thus supporting the Make in India policy’. The joint venture, the agreement for which was signed between Sasmos and Fokker Elmo (a business unit of Fokker Technologies), will start with production of EWIS for the Boeing Company.
 
The inauguration has taken place at the joint venture facility in Whitefield, Bangalore. The current Sasmos facility employs more than 250 employees. The joint venture enables optimised operations and further growth recognising that the Indian aviation market is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic aviation markets in the world today. “Aircraft manufacturers need Indian industrial participation, which presents excellent business development opportunities for the Fokker Elmo Sasmos joint venture to successfully support current and future customers,” said Fokker Elmo in a press release.
 
Tim Hayter, president of Fokker Elmo, said, “We are proud to extend our global presence with India by working together with such a respectable company as Sasmos. We foresee that the combination of our extensive wiring experience and our joint vision regarding developments in the aerospace market in India will lead to exciting growth opportunities, supporting the ‘Make in India’ concept.”
