PM Modi virtually addressed the US 'Summit For Democracy. Describing India as the mother of democracy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country has become the fastest-growing major economy despite many global challenges and this proves that the democracy can deliver. Modi also said that every initiative of his government is powered by collective efforts of the citizens of India. "India, despite the many global challenges, is the fastest growing major economy today. This itself is the best advertisement for the democracy and the world. This itself says that democracy can deliver," he said. Modi was speaking at the second Summit for Democracy, co-hosted by US President Joe Biden, Costa Rica President Rodrigo Chaves Robles, Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema, the Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte and South Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol.

MakeMyTrip plans to grow franchise base by over 50% this year
Online travel services provider, MakeMyTrip on Wednesday said it plans to grow its franchise base by over 50 per cent this year to expand its reach in smaller cities and towns across India.
The company is seeking to tap into the opportunities provided by the government's initiative to increase the number of airports in India by adding 80 airports over the next three years, taking the number to 220 by 2025, MakeMyTrip (MMT) said in a statement.
