New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav has demanded to call an emergency Parliament session to revoke Citizenship Amendment Act or to make amends in it to ensure that discrimination is not done on the basis of religion. "I demand that an emergency session of the Parliament should be called, an amendment should be made to the Citizenship Amendment Act to see that no discrimination is done on the basis of religion or the Act should be revoked," Yadav told ANI. Protests across India, especially in the Northeast, broke out after Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed by both the Houses of Parliament and got President Ram Nath Kovind's assent. Protests at the Jamia Millia Islamia University turned violent after clashes broke out between police and students.
