Massive cleanliness drive begins to save Mahananda River in WB's Siliguri

Siliguri (West Bengal), Jun 02 (ANI): Ahead of the World Environment Day, several people came out and organised a three-day long massive cleanliness drive at WB's Siliguri Mahananda River. While speaking to ANI, the organiser said, "Siliguri is a tourist spot. As a result, many people used to visit this area however the condition of the river is getting worse". He added, "Therefore, we came forward and started clearing operation. Along with this, we are appealing government bodies to take immediate steps to save Mahananda River and implement 'Mahananda Action Plan' which was declared many years ago".
