Vietnam's electric vehicle maker VinFast on Friday said it has signed an agreement with BatX Energies for high voltage battery recycling and repurposing in India.
BatX Energies is an Indian clean-tech company specialising in battery recycling, rare metal recovery and end-of-life battery repurposing.
Under the agreement, BatX Energies will provide comprehensive high-voltage (HV) battery recycling, material recovery and repurposing services for VinFast India's factory, and after-sales operations, the company said in a statement.
The process will ensure efficient recovery and reintegration of critical materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel into the battery production cycle. This approach supports resource circularity, reduces dependence on mining, and significantly lowers environmental impact, it added.

Electric vehicle maker Kinetic Green on Friday said it plans to expand its business with the launch of three e-scooters over the next 18 months.
The first of the three new products is expected to be launched around the festive season this year, the Pune-based firm said in a statement.
Kinetic Green has partnered with Italy's Torino Design to co-create a new range of ultra-futuristic scooters, it added.
"Having sold over 80,000 E2Ws in this initial phase, created a strong manufacturing infrastructure and a network of 400 exclusive dealers for E2W in the country, we are ready to aggressively expand our E2W business," Kinetic Green Founder and CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani said.
Having joined hands with Torino Design, the company aims to redefine electric scooters in the coming months, she added.
Kinetic Green began its EV journey in 2016 with a range of electric three-wheelers.
In 2022, it entered the two-wheeler space and launched E-Luna in 2024.

India's data centre industry is on the brink of exponential growth, with total capacity expected to reach 3 GW by 2030, according to a report.
The sector is also seeing a surge in annual investments, currently at USD 1-1.5 billion (around Rs 12,870 crore), and this figure is expected to double in the coming years, according to the report A Multi-Year Growth Proxy on India's Data Explosion and Localisation Wave by Avendus Capital.
The data centre capacity of the country was estimated at 1.1 GW in 2024.
Rising data consumption, AI and cloud adoption, and policy initiatives focused on data localisation are the main drivers of data centre demand, the report stated.  The demand is expected to reach around 6 GW by 2033, but the supply is expected to be only 4.5 GW, leaving a gap of 1.5 GW.
Much of the demand is expected to be met through large-format, hyperscale-ready infrastructure in core markets, alongside edge-ready capacity in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities for latency-sensitive workloads

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday returned the Finance Bill 2025 to the Lok Sabha, along with 35 government amendments, including one that abolishes a 6 per cent digital tax on online advertisements, thus completing the 2025-26 budgetary exercise that started on February 1.
The House also returned the Appropriation Bill (3) with a voice vote.
Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had moved the two bills in the House.
The Lok Sabha had passed the Finance Bill on March 25 and passed the Appropriation Bill on March 21.
Replying to the debate later in the evening, she said the tendency of the finance ministry would be to exercise caution and not let go of revenues.
"But, here we wanted to use this opportunity to show our respect for Indian taxpayer. We have moved towards setting Rs 12 lakh as threshold up to which no one will have to pay any tax," Sitharaman said.
