Varanasi's Bharat Mata Mandir displays map of undivided India

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 02 (ANI): A unique temple in Varanasi Bharat Mata Mandir displays the map of undivided India. The temple was built by freedom fighter Shiv Prasad Gupta between 1918-1924. The map has been carved out of 762 blocks of makrana marble and shows Afghanistan, Pakistan, Myanmar and Bangladesh as part of India. The caretaker of Bharat Mata Mandir said, "Temples usually show deities but this temple shows the map of Bharat Mata. Completed in 1924, it was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936. We are fortunate to see everyday how large India was earlier. Foreign tourists always come here when they visit Varanasi".
