Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd arm Birla Estates has entered into a joint venture with Mitsubishi Estate Co Ltd (MEC) and will invest Rs 560 crore to develop a housing project in Bengaluru.
Birla Estates Pvt Ltd has entered a joint venture with Mitsubishi Estate Co Ltd for a Rs 560 crore investment in a residential housing development in Southeast Bengaluru through a special purpose vehicle (SPV).
Under the partnership, Birla Estates and MJR Investment Pte Ltd (MIPL), an affiliate of MEC, will share 51:49 economic interest, respectively, in the SPV.
The SPV will lead the development of the premium residential project, which spans 40 lakh square feet of built-up area.

In a fresh trouble for jailed journalist Mahesh Langa, the Gujarat police have registered a case against him for allegedly extorting Rs 40 lakh from a real estate agent by threatening to malign his image and implicate him in a false case, officials said.
Langa is currently in jail in four previous cases registered by Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Rajkot police.  "Now, an FIR under section 308 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) that deals with extortion, was registered on January 23 by the Satellite police station in Ahmedabad city on a complaint by Janak Thakor, a real estate agent and a social worker," police inspector H C Zala said, adding that further action will be taken after investigation. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday participated in a traditional halwa' ceremony, marking the final stage for the preparation of Union Budget 2025-26 to be unveiled on February 1 in the Lok Sabha.
The ceremony is a customary ritual in which traditional dessert halwa' is prepared and served to officials and staff members of the finance ministry who are involved in the preparation of the budget.
It is organised in the basement of North Block, which houses the ministry in the national capital and is attended by the finance minister and other high-ranking officials.
According to sources, the Finance Minister participated in the ceremony and also took a round of the Budget Press and reviewed the preparations besides extending her best wishes to the officials concerned.
