Analysts expecting 500m boost to British economy from Royal wedding

New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI): Analysts predict that British economy may get a boost worth at least 500 million from 2018's royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Local businesses have been eyeing up the royal occasion, since the couple announced their marriage to take place in Windsor.

Harry and Meghan souvenirs have adorned shops since the announcement. Financial consultancy firm, Brand Finance, is expiring an estimate 50 million to come from merchandise sales alone.

As the wedding is expected to draw an international crowd, the bulk of the boom will come from tourism. When Harry's brother, the Duke of Cambridge, wed in 2011, the UK saw an extra 350,000 people visit compared to the same month in previous years.

The couple will marry in the Gothic St George's Chapel, on the grounds of Windsor Castle, May 19th.
