Madhesis protest over bill for local polls under new local structures

Birgunj, Nepal, Feb 06 (ANI): People in Nepal's Terai region have been protesting against a new bill passed in the Parliament to conduct local polls under the new local structures.The protesters burnt the copies of the bill and shouted slogans against the Prachanda government.They are alleging that the bill is against the rights of the indigenous people and is a deliberate attempt to keep them in minority.The population of people living in Terai region of the country is over 50 percent.
