Pakistan faces international isolation and internal disaffection

Geneva/Islamabad, Oct 01 (ANI): Indian forces recently conducted a surgical strike against militant bases across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The army said it had based the raid on "specific and credible inputs" regarding possible infiltration attempts by militants. The strike came ten days after an attack on an army base in Uri by alleged Pakistan-based militants that left 18 soldiers dead. The offensive not only hurts Pakistan physically but also diplomatically and strategically. To make matter worse for the nuclear-armed rival, even its old allies like Afghanistan and Bangladesh openly supported India's tough act. Afghanistan and Bangladesh as well as Bhutan also followed suit when India backed out of the SAARC Summit scheduled to be held in Islamabad in November.
