IL&FS Transportation Networks on Friday appointed Danny Samuel as CEO of the company. IL&FS Transportation Networks in a BSE filing said, Samuel was working as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Roadstar Investment Managers Limited. Roadstar Investment Managers Limited has been tasked with overall supervision and management of all the project assets of the Roadstar Infra Investment Trust. Samuel has 20-plus years of professional experience and has worked in the energy, roads and aviation sectors. Prior to taking on the current assignment, he was handling international assignments as CEO (APAC).

The bankrupt Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) Tuesday has received 14 binding financial bids worth around Rs 13,000 crore for 10 of its road assets in the country. The 14 bids were opened on September 9, and the board and the advisor are evaluating them, the company said in a statement Tuesday. These 10 road assets account for debt of over Rs 17,700 crore, which is nearly 19 percent of total group debt. IL&FS Group entities continue to hold rights to receive claims with gross value exceeding Rs 1,900 crore, filed with various concession authorities in respect of these assets, it said. These road assets include Jharkhand Infrastructure Implementation Company, Jharkhand Road Projects Implementation Company, Moradabad-Bareily Expressway, Chenani-Nashri Tunnelway, Hazaribagh-Ranchi Expressway and the Jorabat- Shillong Expressway. IL&FS Transportation Networks, a group company of the troubled IL&FS group, has defaulted on payments of Rs 26.02 crore due on interest of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) because of insufficient funds. The interest due and payable on July 21, 2019... was not paid to the debenture holders due to insufficient funds, the company said in a filing to stock exchanges. IL&FS Transportation Networks said it had defaulted in payments of interest amount of debentures of Rs 14.62 crore and Rs 11.40 crore. Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) and its subsidiaries have defaulted on many debt instruments over the past few months due to insufficient funds. The group's total debt stood at over Rs 90,000 crore as of October 2018.
