Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan permits notification for 1,000 Group I, II jobs

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday gave the green signal to issue a notification to recruit nearly 1,000 people under Group - I and Group - II services. Senior officials met the Chief Minister and informed him that there are 100 Group - I and 900 Group - II vacancies in various departments. "They also told him that the notification process is in final stages. He instructed them to issue the job notification at the earliest," said a press note shared by the state governmet today. Further, Reddy directed officials to take utmost care in conducting the examinations and completing the recruitment process. Deputy Collector (RDO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and others are some sought after Group I posts along with other Group II jobs conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).

Flexi staffing industry witnesses 14% of growth in new jobs in FY23

Flexi staffing industry logged 14 per cent growth in new jobs in the country in 2022-23, Indian Flexi Staffing Federation (IFS) said on Tuesday. Members of the industry body ISF collectively added 1.77 lakh new flexi jobs in FY23, driven by the surge in employment particularly in key sectors such as e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, FMCG, consumer durables, and healthcare, a statement said. Women's participation in the flexi workforce continued to account for 24 per cent in FY'2023. These findings were unveiled in the ISF's Annual Flexi Staffing Industry Employment Trend Report -2023, which was released on Tuesday. The reported figures for new flexi jobs by the Indian Staffing Federation represent the combined contribution of both General Flexi Staffing and IT Flexi Staffing industries. HEIs may soon provide part-time jobs to economically weaker students

An "earn-while-learn" scheme might soon be launched in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to help students from socio-economically disadvantaged groups to earn and support their education, according to University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC has proposed that HEIs may provide various part-time engagement opportunities to the enrolled students in any academic departments of the HEIs within the campus. According to draft Guidelines for Equitable Opportunity to the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) in HEIs, the rate of remuneration for each of the students will be a consolidated amount on an hourly basis for the part-time service they render, a maximum of 20 hours per week, 20 days per month. The UGC has noted the payment may be made on an actual basis and the services of the student will be rendered after class hours.
