Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday sacked Rajendra Gudha as minister of state, hours after he cornered the state government in the assembly over law and order. Gudha held charge as Minister of State for Sainik Kalyan (Independent Charge), Home Guard and Civil Defence, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development. A Raj Bhavan spokesperson said, "Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recommended Governor Kalraj Mishra to dismiss member of council of ministers Rajendra Gudha in the evening. The governor has accepted this recommendation with immediate effect." Gudha on Friday questioned his own government's performance in reining in crimes against women, even as his peers slammed the Manipur violence. Rajasthan govt tables country's first gig workers bill for social security

Rajasthan government on Friday tabled the Rajasthan Platform Based GIG Workers (registration and welfare) Bill, 2023 country's first such which seeks to guarantee social security to gig workers. The bill provisions for monetary penalties if an aggregator fails to comply with the Act. The state government may impose a fine up to Rs 5 lakh for the first contravention and up to Rs 50 lakh for subsequent contravention. Under the bill, the state will constitute a 'The Rajasthan Platform Based Gig Workers Welfare Board' which will ensure registration of gig workers and aggregators operating in the state. The bill also aims to set up a welfare fee deduction mechanism that will be integrated with the aggregator app. The government also seeks to set up a monitoring mechanism to review compliance of provisions of the Act and to verify if the welfare fee is being deducted regularly. The Rajasthan government has received Rs 1,024.4 crore as green tax in the last five years, the state assembly was told on Monday. Addressing members in the Rajasthan assembly in a written reply, Minister of State for Transport Brijendra Singh Ola said the government received Rs 1,024.4 crore green tax between 2018-19 and 2022-23. Replying to a question by BJP MLA Satish Poonia, Ola said the figure was available as per the accounts prepared after tallying the numbers with figures received from the Accountant General. He said there is no official information available regarding the inclusion of Jaipur and Jodhpur in the list of 15 most polluted cities of the world in the report of the World Health Organisation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated and laid the foundation stones of development projects worth more than Rs 24,300 crore in Rajasthan's Bikaner district. Modi dedicated to people a six-lane greenfield expressway section of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor, the first phase of the Inter-State Transmission Line for Green Energy Corridor, a Bikaner-to-Bhiwadi transmission line and a 30-bed Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital. He also laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Bikaner railway station and the doubling of the 43-km-long Churu-Ratangarh section. The prime minister pressed a remote button to inaugurate the projects at a programme in Norangdesar, Bikaner. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister of State for Law and Parliament Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal, who is also the member of Parliament from Bikaner, were also present on the occasion.

BJP president J P Nadda on Friday chaired a meeting of party leaders from various states, including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, as the party ramps up its campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Senior leaders deliberated on a host of organisational programmes, people's feedback and the strategy ahead, sources said. Raj govt approves DA hike for employees, pensioners in 5th pay commission

Employees and pensioners working under the Fifth Pay Commission in Rajasthan will get an increased dearness allowance from January 2023. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal in this regard, an official statement said. According to the proposal, an increase in the rate of dearness allowance has been approved for state employees and pensioners working under the Fifth Pay Commission and Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1998. From January 1, 2023, the rate of dearness allowance will be increased from 396 per cent to 412 per cent to such state employees and pensioners. From January 2023 to March 2023, the amount will be deposited in the general provident fund account of the concerned employees. While the pensioners will get the increased dearness allowance in cash. The Rajasthan government will be roping in social media influencers to publicise its welfare work on social media ahead of the upcoming assembly election. The Ashok Gehlot-led government in a notification on June 26 said that in addition to the print and electronic media, social media influencers will now be hired to advertise the government's works. According to the notification, the influencers will be paid up to 5 lakh per month depending on a variety of parameters, including the number of followers they have and the material they post. Raj cabinet discusses formation of new districts announced in state budget

Discussions regarding the formation of new districts announced in the Rajasthan budget 2023-24 were held in a cabinet meeting here on Friday evening. Decisions on recitation of Preamble and fundamental duties of the Constitution in schools, first increment in the interest of the employees in six months, more opportunities to the youth of the state in government service were also taken in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The cabinet discussed the report presented by the Ramlubhaya Committee, which was formed to look into the demands of new districts, as well as memorandums received from different areas after the announcements of new districts. Discussions regarding the administrative boundaries of the new districts and on suggestions from people were held in the meeting. Shah brings up Kanhaiya Lal murder case in Rajasthan rally ahead of polls

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday targeted the Congress government in Rajasthan, saying that had it set up a special court in the Kanhaiya Lal murder case, the accused would have been hanged by now. Shah recalled the year-old case at his rally in Rajasthan's Udaipur. Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor, was murdered on June 28 last year by two cleaver-wielding men, who had accused him of insulting Islam on social media. "The Rajasthan government did not set up a special court.
