Rajasthan govt announces Rs 13.48 cr aid for boosting religious tourism

The Rajasthan government on Monday sanctioned Rs 13.48 crore to promote religious tourism at Nagaur, Jaisalmer and Alwar regions of the state. A spokesperson said the state government has been continuously working to promote religious tourism and develop various facilities for pilgrims at these places. Under the initiative, Rs 3.10 crore has been sanctioned for Butati in Nagaur district, Rs 1.65 crore for Ghatveshwar Mahadev Temple, Rs 1.61 crore for Harmal Das Ji Maharaj Temple and Rs 1.36 crore for improving facilities at Dargah Hazrat Samman Badi Khatu. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved funds worth Rs 1.50 crore for developing Shri Kaledungar Rai Temple complex, a historical religious tourist place located in Jaisalmer. District-level committees in Rajasthan to distribute free food packets

The Rajasthan government has decided to procure food items and distribute them to beneficiaries under the Annapurna scheme through district-level committees headed by district collectors, an official source said on Monday. Earlier, the cooperative department was given this task. However, the state government has now decided to do this through district-level committees. The Chief Minister Free Annapurna Food Packet Scheme was announced by Ashok Gehlot during the presentation of the state's budget for 2023-24 in February to provide relief to the masses from rising prices. "The district-level committee will procure items and will distribute the food kits," an official source told PTI. Under the scheme, which will be introduced soon, free food packets will be provided to families covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Rajasthan govt trying to mislead public in name of announcements: Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday targeted the Congress government in Rajasthan alleging that after four-and-a-half years of its rule, it is trying to mislead the public in the name of announcements. Accusing the state government of blocking the schemes of the central government, he said the Centre has approved a plan of Rs 5,782 crore to bring water from Chambal in Alwar, but the "corrupt Gehlot government has blocked that too". Rajasthan govt to launch mega sports event to reach out to over 5 mn people

Ahead of Assembly polls, the Congress government in Rajasthan will launch a mega sports event to engage more than 50 lakh people in both rural and urban areas of the state, officials said on Sunday. Buoyed by the "overwhelming" response to the first edition of the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games in August last year, which saw a participation of nearly 30 lakh people, the government has decided to hold the games in urban areas too, they said. The Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games will begin on International Olympic Day on June 23 and conclude on National Sports Day on August 29, officials said. With close to 55 lakh people registering for the games, which is higher than the official target of 50 lakh, the government plans to publicise its schemes and programmes through the event and promote the spirit of sportsmanship among participants of all ages, they said. Raj govt to turn 1.20 lakh hectares of agri land into organic farming area

The Rajasthan government on Saturday said it will convert about 1.20 lakh hectare of agricultural land into organic farming area and provide organic seeds, bio-fertilizers and pesticides to the farmers. The state government is making all-out efforts to encourage organic farming. In this sequence, chief minister Ashok Gehlot has approved a proposal to convert 1.20 lakh hectares area into organic farming area. Under this, organic seeds, bio fertilizers and pesticides will be made available to the farmers, an official statement said. This year, farmers will be benefited by converting 1.20 lakh hectare area into organic. It will cost about Rs 23.57 crore. Besides, Rs 5,000 per farmer will also be given to 50,000 organic farmers. The chief minister has also sanctioned Rs 5 crore from the state fund for activities like farmer selection, formation of farmers' groups and master trainers training, among others.

Rajasthan to open 70 new sub-health centres to strengthen health services

The Rajasthan government will open 70 new sub-health centres (SHCs) across the state to strengthen health services infrastructure, according to an official statement. Eleven SHCs will be opened in Sikar, nine in Nagaur, six each in Alwar and Karauli, five in Sawai Madhopur, four each in Bhilwara and Tonk, three each in Jaipur, Churu and Rajsamand, two each in Chittorgarh, Dausa, Jalore, Jhunjhunu, Kota and Udaipur, and one SHC each in Ajmer, Baran, Bharatpur and Pali, it said Chief Minister ashok Gehlot has approved a proposal for the project, it said and added a woman health worker will be posted at each of these SHCs.
