YouTube is changing its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) monetisation rules from February 1, 2027. New creators will need 8,000 watch hours or 20 million Shorts views to qualify for ad and Premium revenue sharing. Existing YPP creators won’t be affected, though Shorts creators will need 10 million views in 90 days to keep revenue sharing active. YouTube says the changes reflect its growth and aim to reward active creators, while Fan Funding, Shopping and Premium Lite offer other ways to earn.
