Nurses share experience after administering COVID vaccine to PM Modi

New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi took his second shot of COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS, Delhi on April 08. He received the first dose of Bharat Biotech's COVAXIN on March 01. "I have given the second dose of COVAXIN to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. He spoke to us. It was a memorable moment for me as I got to meet him and vaccinate him," said Nisha Sharma, Nurse. "I am the vaccinator who gave the first dose of COVAXIN to PM Narendra Modi. Today, I got another opportunity to meet him and vaccinate him for the second time. I was elated again. He spoke to us, we even clicked pictures with him," said P Niveda, Nurse. The two nurses who administered COVID-19 vaccine to PM Narendra Modi at AIIMS, Delhi are-P Niveda from Puducherry and Nisha Sharma from Punjab.

Pariksha Pe Charcha: PM Modi suggests students to study difficult topics first

New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Ahead of the board examinations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the virtual Pariksha Pe Charcha session on Wednesday, suggested students to study difficult topics first with a fresh mind. "I will ask students to equally distribute time. When it comes to studies, take the first thing which is difficult. Attempt difficult topics first with a fresh mind first. When you attend difficult parts first, easy ones get easier," said PM Modi. The Prime Minister also shared his working style when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and said that he used to take up the toughest thing first and still follows the same. "I always take up tough things first, this was my habit since the time I was Chief Minister. I have made this a routine. When I get up in the morning, I start with the toughest task," he added.

People should include Yoga, Ayurveda for protection against COVID-19: Baba Ramdev

Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Apr 08 (ANI): Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Apr 07 urged people to include Yoga and meditation along with the vaccination, social distancing, use of masks and sanitizers to tackle the infection of COVID-19. "When the corona pandemic begun, the people changed their lifestyle and adopted Yoga and Ayurveda, used natural products instead of junk foods but again people have become careless. They are not using mask and sanitizer and not maintaining social distancing" said Baba Ramdev. The Yoga Guru also said that consuming fast food has a great impact on the body and urged people to use natural products and to use masks and consume Tulsi, there are many people who have been tested positive twice in a gap of six months.

Delhi govt increased over 2000 COVID beds in 3 days: Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): With the spike of COVID-19 cases in Delhi, Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed that Delhi government has increased 2000 beds in hospitals in the last 3 days. "In the last 3 days, more than 2000 beds have been increased in hospitals. I would like to appeal to the public to wear masks and maintain social distancing and wash hands before touching," the minister said. "5100 positive cases reported and 1,30,453 testing done on Apr 06. 4.93% increase in positivity rate but cases have increased these days," he added.

Bijapur naxal attack: Captive CPRF jawan's family urges govt for his release

Jammu, Apr 07 (ANI): The family of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, who was part of the party that was attacked by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur and has been held captive by them, requested the government to take action and to ensure his release. His wife said, "If a jawan reports to his duty a day after his leave ends then action is taken against him. Now that a jawan is missing since April 3 no action has been taken by government. We want government to search for a mediator so that he is released." Communist Party of India (Maoist) released a statement and confirmed abduction of the CRPF jawan during the encounter that happened on April 03 in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur.

Chhattisgarh Naxal attack: Slain CRPF jawan's body reaches home in Tripura

Agartala (Tripura), April 7 (ANI): The mortal remains of slain CRPF jawan Shambhu Roy reached his home state Tripura on April 6. Shambhu was killed in the fierce encounter with the Naxals in Chhattisgarh on April 3 along with 22 personnel. MP from West Tripura Pratima Bhowmick, MLA Dr. Dilip Das, CRPF IG (Tripura) Satpal Rawat among others paid tribute to martyred Shambhu Roy. After paying full gun honour salute by CRPF with barrels downward, the body of the martyr left for his ancestral house at Bhagyapur village in North Tripura district.

RBI projects CPI inflation for 2021-22 under 5%

Mumbai, Apr 07 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on April 07 announced revised projection for CPI inflation of financial year 2021-22. "The projection for CPI inflation has been revised to 5% in Q4 of 2021, 5.2%, in Q1 of 2021-22, 5.2% also in Q2 of 2021-22, 4.4% in Q3, and 5.1% in Q4 with risks broadly balanced. On March 31, 2021, the government retained the inflation target at 4% with the lower and upper tolerance levels of 2% and 6%, respectively, for the next five years that is from April 2021 to March 2026. An inflation rate of 4% over the medium term has now been successfully entranced the economic landscape," said RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.

RBI retains GDP growth projection for 2021-22 at 10.5%

Mumbai, Apr 07 (ANI): Keeping current situation of COVID-19 in notice, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to retain real GDP growth for 2021-22 at 10.5%. "The recent surge in COVID-19 cases adds uncertainty to the domestic growth outlook amid tightening of restrictions by some state governments. The projection of real GDP growth for 2021-22 is retained at 10.5%," said RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.

COVID update: India records highest ever spike of 1.15 lakh cases

New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): The COVID-19 cases continued to surge in India and 1,15,736 new cases reported in the country on Apr 07. The country's COVID caseload stood at 1,28,01,785 and currently there are 8,43,473 active cases in India . 59,856 people were discharged in last 24 hours taking total recoveries to 1,17,92,135. With 630 new deaths, death toll mounts to 1,66,177. According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 25,14,39,598 samples tested for COVID-19, up to April 06. The COVID vaccination drive is underway across country. So far 8,70,77,474 COVID vaccine jabs have been inoculated.

Sukma encounter: Mortal remains of CRPF jawan brought to hometown Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh), April 06 (ANI): Mortal remains of CRPF jawan Routhu Jagadish were brought to his native place in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram on April 05. He lost his life in an encounter with Naxals at the Sukma-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh on April 3. Large number of people came to pay floral tribute to the slain soldier. In the deadly Naxals attack, at least 22 security personnel were killed, and around 32 sustained injuries in the encounter.

LG announces it's exiting the smartphone business

New Delhi, April 06 (ANI): South Korean multinational electronics company LG recently confirmed that it will be exiting the smartphone business. The company's existing phones will remain on sale, and it will continue to support its products "for a period of time which will vary by region." According to The Verge, LG said in a statement that this decision will "enable the company to focus resources in growth areas such as electric vehicle components, connected devices, smart homes, robotics, artificial intelligence and business-to-business solutions, as well as platforms and services." The company has yet not said anything about the possible layoffs due to this decision, except that "details related to employment will be determined at the local level." Nearly 100 students found COVID positive in Himachal School

Chamba (Himachal Pradesh), April 5 (ANI): 99 students of a private school in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district have been tested positive for coronavirus. Moreover, some teachers and staff members have also contracted the virus, taking the cumulative figure at the school to 158.
