Will welcome surrendered Naxals, but no option if you have weapons: Amit Shah

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 05 (ANI): While addressing Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Bijapur, days after Naxal attack which left 22 security personnel dead and over 30 injured, Home Minister Amit Shah motivated the jawans and also said the government will welcome those who wish to surrender, but will have no option left for Naxalites who continue fight with weapons. "When a friend leaves us and goes we do feel sad. But the poor of this area is devoid of development due to Naxal issue. We welcome those who want to surrender and come to us but we'll have no option if you have weapons in hands," said HM Shah. He added, "Government of India understands all your problems and is firmly standing with you in this fight. We will address all the loopholes as early as possible."

Chhattisgarh Naxal attack: HM Shah meets injured security personnel

Bijapur/Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 05 (ANI): Home Minister Amit Shah met injured jawans in Naxal attack at Ramkrishna Care hospital in Chhattisgarh's Raipur on April 05. He also met CRPF personnel at CRPF camp in Bijapur. In a horrific incident, at least 22 security personnel were killed, over 30 injured and one went missing in exchange of fire between forces and Naxals along Bijapur-Sukma border.

New Delhi, Apr 05 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party on April 05 criticised central government over media reports which state that India will be providing COVID-19 vaccine doses to Pakistan. The party asked if lives of Indian people less important than that of Pakistanis. "Reports say that Indian government has signed some agreements, under which India will give 45 million doses of vaccine to Pakistan. Mumbai, Apr 05 (ANI): After resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deskhmukh, Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis said that more faces will be unmasked as soon as the investigation will be progressed in the allegations against Deshmukh. "Home Minister Anil Deskhmukh should have resigned at the moment he was blamed for the racket. I firmly believe that more things will come out now. This is like tip of iceberg. The moment the investigation progresses, more faces will be unmasked," said Devendra Fadnavis. Anil Deskhmukh resigned as Maharashtra Home Minister after High Court ordered probe in former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh's allegations against Deshmukh.

Sharad Pawar realised consequences of giving clean chit to Anil Deshmukh: BJP

New Delhi, Apr 05 (ANI): Reacting to the resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, the BJP said the NCP leader Sharad Pawar must have understood the implications of giving a clean chit to Deshmukh who tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on April 05. Mumbai's Dadar market continues to witness huge crowd amid surge in COVID cases

Mumbai, Apr 05 (ANI): From past many days, Mumbai's Dadar vegetable market has been witnessing large crowd. Social distancing and other COVID norms were flouted at the market. Mumbai city's guardian minister Aslam Shaikh visited the Dadar market on April 04 to inspect and interact with sellers amid surge in COVID infections. Mumbai reported 11,163 new COVID cases and 25 deaths on April 04. State government has imposed Section 144 of CrPC between 7 am and 8 pm, banning gathering of more than 5 people at a place.

COVID-19: India's daily cases cross 1 lakh for first time

New Delhi, Apr 05 (ANI): India reports all-time high daily COVID cases with 1,03,558 new infections. This is the first time that India has recorded over 1 lakh cases in a single-day. Country's COVID caseload stood at 1,25,89,067 with 7,41,830 active cases. 52,847 beneficiaries were discharged in last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 1,16,82,136. With 478 new deaths, death toll mounts to 1,65,101 . Vaccination drive is underway across country. So far 7,91,05,163 COVID vaccine jabs have been inoculated.

Sukma encounter: CM Yogi announces ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakhs for family of Head Constable Raj Kumar Yadav

An encounter took place between Naxals and security forces in Junaguda village in Sukma district on April 03. In the deadly Naxals attack, at least 22 security personnel were killed, and around 32 sustained injuries in the encounter.
