Baramulla (JandK), Mar 29 (ANI): The wreath laying ceremony of Councillor Riyaz Ahmad and Police personnel Shafqat, who were killed in a terrorist attack on March 29, were held in Sopore. Several officers were present to pay their last tribute to the officers. One more councillor was also injured in the attack that took place at Municipal Office in Sopore.
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Mar 29 (ANI): General secretary of Indian National Congress Randeep Singh Surjewala slammed Kerala government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Centre by alleging that there is a secret understanding between both the parties. He alleged that Kerala government is purchasing electricity from Adani's Long Term Wind Power Project by paying him high cost. "The solar power is available at Rs 1 cheaper to Adani's Wind power. The quota of the solar power was reduced by PM Modi and CM Vijayan 2.5 per cent to 0.25 percent why, then Kerala would have benefitted," he said.
New Delhi, Mar 29 (ANI): BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain condoled the death of BJP worker, who was allegedly beaten by TMC workers a month before. He said that the people of the state will give reply to TMC by their votes. BJP worker Gopal Majumdar had alleged last month that three TMC workers attacked his house and his mother. Following the alleged attack, several BJP leaders including Suvendu Adhikari had visited Shobha's residence to take her to the hospital. She was being treated at a private hospital and had returned to her home four days ago. Following her death, BJP candidate in Dumdam Uttar constituency Dr Archana Majumdar blamed TMC activists for her death.
Belagavi (Karnataka), Mar 28 (ANI): A convoy of Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar was allegedly attacked by supporters of state BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi in Belagavi on March 28. A group of people were seen thrashing Shivakumar's SUV car passing by a road in Belagavi. Jarkilholi on March 27 called the state Congress chief an impotent and alleged his hand behind the alleged sex tape which forced Jarkiholi to resign as a minister. Shivakumar dismissed his allegations and labelled Jarkiholi as a "frustrated" man.
Thrissur (Kerala), Mar 28 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on March 28 took a pot shot at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's sea dive in Kerala during campaigning, by saying that he sinks others with himself. Singh added that Rahul's track record is not good, highlighting his defeat in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi during 2019 Lok Sabha polls. "Unka track record thik nahi hai jaha jate hai khud bhi dubte hai dusro ko bhi duba dete hai," he said.
Salem (Tamil Nadu), Mar 28 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is in the last leg of campaigning in Tamil Nadu, on March 28 "guarantee" that DMK president MK Stalin will be the next chief minister of the state, adding that the state will pave the way for removing the BJP from Centre. "I can guarantee that Stalin will be the CM. Decision has been made, now elections will formalise it. But the fight doesn't stop here as RSS and BJP have unlimited money. To stop them, we have to first oust them in Tamil Nadu and then remove them from Delhi," said Gandhi in Salem where he addressed a joint public rally with Stalin.
Shirui (Manipur) March 28 (ANI): Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has sought help from the Central government in dousing the fire at Shirui peak, located in the Ukhrul district. The Chief Secretary of Manipur has also written a letter to the Centre in this regard. The massive fire broke out in the wee hours of the morning. "Very unfortunate to see the fire spreading at Shirui Peak, Ukhrul District, Manipur. Spoken to Union Home Ministry Additional Secretary to extend all possible help from NDRF to douse the fire. An official letter has also been sent from the Manipur Chief Secretary," the Chief Minister tweeted.

Mumbai, Mar 28 (ANI): In the latest development in Mansukh Hiren death case, the National Investigation Agency took arrested police officer Sachin Waze to Mithi River bridge in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla complex on March 28 for evidence recovery. A team of divers recovered CPU, number plates of a vehicle, and other items from the river. Waze, Assistant Police Inspector in the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU), was arrested in connection with the investigation into the recovery of explosives from a car parked near Ambani's house in Mumbai on February 25. Mansukh Hiren, the owner of the vehicle that was found containing explosives outside Ambani's house, was found dead in a creek on March 5 in Thane.

He said that LDF and UDF are playing a friendly battle in which whoever wins but ultimately people of Kerala will be defeated. Bishnupur (West Bengal), Mar 28 (ANI): Actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty, who recently joined Bharatiya Janata Party, held a roadshow in West Bengal's Bishnupur on March 28. "The voter turnout recorded yesterday shows that 'poriborton' (change) is coming," he said. In the first phase, 30 seats covering all assembly constituencies from the districts of Purulia and Jhargram and a segment of Bankura, Purba Medinipur and Paschim Medinipur went to polls to decide on the electoral fate of 191 candidates, including 21 women. The remaining seven phases for the 294-member West Bengal Assembly will be held on different dates with the final round of voting scheduled on April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 2.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Mar 24 (ANI): Ahead of the assembly polls in Kerala, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar, released National Democratic Alliance (NDA) manifesto. The manifesto was released in Thiruvananthapuram on March 24. While speaking to ANI, Javadekar said, "Our manifesto focuses on Kerala's holistic development with provisions for jobs, terror and hunger-free state, law on Sabarimala and 'love jihad'. The rift between CPM and Congress in Kerala is a drama. 'Bengal mein dosti, Kerala mein kushti' is hypocrisy," he added.

Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), Mar 24 (ANI): Election Flying Squad seized Rs 1 crore from a vehicle during checking at Pettavaithalai bridge in Trichy on March 24. The vehicle also had an AIADMK flag. Further investigation is underway. Tamil Nadu will go to polls on April 6.
