CoA chief Vinod Rai backs MS Dhoni on gloves controversy

Mumbai, June 07 (ANI): Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai on Friday backed MS Dhoni on insignia row. He said that insignia worn by Dhoni doesn't has any religious, military, or commercial significance as per the rules of ICC. "So we're going to tell ICC it need not be removed," Rai said. "But in any case if they feel, we'll take permission like we took in case of camouflage caps, because we believe in confirming to norms of the game. If the ICC has a set of norms, we'll go with the norms," Rai added.

CWC 2019: Fans celebrate India's opening victory

WC 2019: Team India sweats it out ahead of opening clash with SA

Southampton (England), Jun 01 (ANI): After playing its two warm up matches against New Zealand and Bangladesh, Team India began its practice session at The Rose Bowl stadium in Southampton, England where the team blue will face South Africa on June 5 for its opening match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Skipper Virat Kohli, experienced MS Dhoni and young guns like Hardik Pandya and Jaspreet Bumrah are some of the key players with huge fan expectations going into the world tournament. India beat Bangladesh in its second warm up match of the tournament by 95 runs after scoring a mammoth 359 runs with the help of MS Dhoni and KL Rahul's centuries. However, The Indian side didn't start well in first pre-tournament match against New Zealand in which the Kiwis summed up India's batting side to 180 runs and won the match easily by 6 wickets.

Captains meet Queen Elizabeth before the commencement of CWC'19

New Delhi, May 30 (ANI): All ten captains of the participating teams in the Cricket World Cup paid a visit to Queen Elizabeth on Wednesday. They also met Prince Harry at the Buckingham Palace in London. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tweeted two pictures of the captains' meeting with the Queen. In one picture all captains can be spotted with Queen Elizabeth and in another picture, Queen can be seen greeting the captains. The Royal Family also posted a photo on Twitter of the meeting between the skippers and the Queen. Bhubaneswar: 12th KIIT International Chess Festival 2019 to begin

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 29 (ANI): The 12th KIIT International Chess Festival 2019 will be held in Odisha's Bhubaneswar. The tournament will start from May 31 to June 7. Cricket WC 2019: Indian Team leaves for England from Mumbai airport

Mumbai, 22 May (ANI): The Indian cricket team on late Tuesday night departed for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 which will be held in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14. The 15-member squad boarded the flight from Mumbai after sweating for more than a month in IPL which had concluded on May 12. India will play South Africa in its first game at the world tournament on June 05. It will also play two warm-up matches with New Zealand and Bangladesh on May 25 and 28 respectively.
