What is Northern Coalfields Limited

The Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), started in 1985, is a subsidiary of Coal India. Earlier it was a subsidiary of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). Its headquarters is in Singrauli. 
 
As of 31st March, 2015, NCL has 16,226 employees. It is among the top PSU's in India.
 
The NCL operates 10 coal mines: Amlohri, Block-B, Bina, Dudhichua, Jayant, Jhingurdah, Kakri, Khadia, Nigahi, Krishnashila
 
Coal blocks in the area: Kohraul, Chanduar, Gharsari, Bairpaan, Dibulganj, Kuchaman, Kubari, Auri more, Mirchadhuri, Khdaura
 
NCL is also planning to set up a power plant of 1,000 megawatts in Madhya Pradesh with Neyveli Lignite Corporation.
