The Centre has proposed to build a double-decker flyover connecting Chennai Port with other vital locations in Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Wednesday.
He also highlighted that the MSME sector in India is a major job creator and contributor to the country's gross domestic product
Gadkari said his Ministry has envisaged developing 35 Multi-modal Logistic Parks (MMLPs) in the country and work on preparing DPR (detailed project report) and feasibility report is underway
Gadkari will on Tuesday lay the foundation stone for India's first multi-modal logistics park in Assam to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 694 crore, an official statement said
Lauding the Tamil Nadu govt's efforts at reducing road accidents and related fatalities, Nitin Gadkari asked other states to take it as an example and work on a mission mode
These pertain to 16 projects comprising over 1,400 kms of highways
