Aditya Birla inks pact for Rs 1,500-cr Orissa port

The Orissa government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Aditya Birla Group (ABG) for setting up a Rs 1,500-crore captive port at Chudamani in Bhadrakh district, Orissa.

Commerce and Transport Secretary P K Jena and ABG CEO K Muralidharan signed the papers in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The port project will be developed in phases with the total investment projected at Rs 1,500 crore. The company will operate the port on a Build-Own-Operate basis.
