Reliance Infocomm's Reliance India Mobile (RIM) advertising account is up for grabs. The Rs 80 crore account is currently handled by Mudra Communications, a Reliance group company.

The account is expected to grow to Rs 120 crore this year, with Reliance rolling out more products and extending its geographical reach.

A senior manager at Reliance Infocomm says that they have are talking to several agencies, including Ambience Publicis and Leo Burnett. Says the manager, "We are planning a new commercial for next year. So, we may consider more than one agency." He, however, reiterates that Mudra would continue to be on its agency roster.

Four agencies have pitched for the RIM account, when it was launched last year. Besides Mudra, the others included McCann Erickson, Grey India and Bates India. And the reason for re-evaluating it now?

According to the senior manager, it is because "we believe that it is time for us to look ahead at the future".
