| "With the new plant having a capacity of producing 4 lakh bottles per day, the highest in the world, we wish to emerge as a market leader both in sales and production. Around 30 per cent of the total production will be used domestically," Sanjeev Nayyar, vice-president of the company said. |
| Alcome, the world's 2nd largest perfume company has a 33 per cent perfume market share worldwide. The existing plants (at Noida and Bhiwadi) have a combined production capacity 100,000 and 10,000 bottles per day. The company today announced the entry of its perfume range in the Uttar Pradesh market. |
| "We are quite bullish about the Uttar Pradesh fragrance market, which is worth Rs. 50 crore. For sales, the company will tie up with major retail outlets and develop a network of direct selling agents. We plan to have over 10,000 channel partners across the state," Nayyar added. |
| Alcome Perfumes and Cosmetics, so far, were manufactured in Noida and Bhiwadi and were exported to 68 countries. A huge chunk of its exports goes to the US, Europe and the the Middle East. |
| "We have earmarked a budget of about Rs 100 crore for expansion across the country this year. The reason is that UP is a price conscious state we have started our range from Rs 99, which is affordable by the masses," Nayyar said. |
| Of the nearly 600 types of perfumes worldwide, Alcome plans to introduce 100 variants every year in India. After Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, the company soon will be venture into Gujarat. |
