BSNL offers five new tariff plans for landline customers

| The monthly rental for the new tariffs range from Rs 260 to Rs 2,250 per month. |
| Addressing a press conference on Saturday, C Govardhan, principal general manager BSNL (AP Circle), said that the new tariff structure was designed so that a customer has the option to choose from a plan that fits his requirement. |
| "The new plan would benefit individuals, corporates and businessmen who use the phone frequently," Govardhan said. |
| According to him, the new tariff structure were formulated at bringing in flexibility and also meet the changes made by some of the private operators. |
| BSNL has provided the option plan forms at all customer service centres, telecom offices and the department's cash counters. New customers can opt for a plan of their choice along with the phone connection, he said. |
| While Plan-260 comes with a rental of Rs 260 per month, it offers 160 phone calls free worth Rs 192, at a unit call rate of Rs 1.20, which works out to Rs 68 per month. For Plan-500, a subscriber is allowed 475 free calls, which works out to Rs 522 at a call rate of Rs 1.10 per call. |
| With Plan-1000, a user gets 1,050 calls worth Rs 1,050 at Re 1 per call and under Plan-1500, a customer can make 1,800 calls which works out to Rs 1,620 at 90 paise per call. The highest call tariff, Plan-2250, a customer can make 2,900 calls which works to effective price of Rs 2,610 at 90 paise a call. |
| BSNL also plans to extend the direct internet access (DIAS) service to three more circles taking the total number to eight. |
| "The DIAS facility is available at Saidabad, Secunderabad, Musheerabad, Jubilee Hills and Ameerpet exchanges. now we would be extending the services to Hi-Tech City, Gowliguda and Saroornagar exchanges," he said. |
| He said that BSNL has overcome the problem of CellOne and Excel recharge and SIM coupons and that they were freely available. |
