North-based JK Lakshmi Cement, has posted a rise of 103 per cent in its net profit for the quarter ended 30 June at Rs 78.49 crore compared with Rs 38.67 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. The company's gross turnover grew 22 per cent to Rs 384 crore from Rs 315 crore last year.
On the back of reduced power and fuel costs, higher sales, the company's operating profit margins improved to 34 per cent from 24 per cent in the same period last year.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company's shares closed strong last week at Rs 131.45, up 3.02 per cent.
