The hockey stadium for the Afro-Asian Games at Gachibowli here was designed and constructed by its construction division in just 70 days.
The twin-court stadium, scheduled to open on October 24, meets the stringent specifications of the Federation of International Hockey and the expectations of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh.
An L&T press release said that apart from architectural, civil and structural works, the scope included setting up of the electro-mechanical services and provision of masts for floodlighting.
In the twin court stadium on a sprawling 13 acres, each hockey field is of 101.4 metres x 63 metres in area.
Each court has an 800 sqm gallery that can accommodate 500 spectators at a time. The pavilion consist of ground and single storey. A common portico connects the two blocks, according to a release.
Around 50 engineers and 3000 workmen worked round the clock to set up the stadium, according to a press release here.
