United Spirits Ltd, arm of Vijay Mallya’s UB Group, has registered a 32 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 77.44 crore in the fourth quarter of last financial year as compared with Rs 58.85 crore reported in the same period last year.
The increase in profit is attributed to higher sales volume of various liquor products of the company with drop in spirit cost during the quarter. Total income rose by 28 per cent to Rs 1617.2 crore during this period over the corresponding period last year. Operating profit increased by 19 per cent to Rs 233 crore as compared with Rs 95 crore last year.
