The ruling-AIADMK today said it will not have alliance with Congress and BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha election in 2014. Today's decision has ended the speculation that the party-led by J Jayalalithaa, may join hands with BJP, especially when she attended the Narendra Modi's oath function last week.

Speaking at the general and executive council meeting of AIADMK at Vanagaram, on the outskirts of Chennai, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK's Supermo Jayalalithaa said, as far as AIADMK is concerned, we are in a situation that it cannot forge a tie-up with the UPA led by Congress or the NDA led by BJP, since both the parties are not ready to give Cauvery Water for Tamil Nadu.

“The Congress is leading the government in the Centre, while the BJP is ruling the state of Karnataka. Both the parties are not giving a single drop of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu,” she said.

The Chief Minister further said, at a time when the Tamil Nadu government filed a case in the Supreme Court, Congress leaders from Karnataka, SM Krishna and Veerappa Moily, met the Prime Minister along with Karnataka BJP Chief Minister to support Karanataka in Cauvery issue.

The Congress and BJP MPs of Karnataka stand united in the Cauvery issue. The DMK has also joined this.

“The DMK MPs led by TR Baalu met the Prime Minister and urged him not to notify the Cauvery Tribunal's order in the gazette. This is the truth,” alleged the Chief Minister.

In this circumstance, to win over the rights of Tamil Nadu, AIADMK has to stand alone in all the 40 seats and emerge victorious, she told the party cadres.

On the power crisis, she alleged that the DMK was the reason behind the present power crisis in Tamil Nadu and said her government is taking war footing steps to improve the situation. The problem will be solved by the end of 2013.
