Payment of food grains alongwith cash in lieu of work done under National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme may become a reality despite rural development minister Jairam Ramesh's apparent opposition to the idea. The minister said on Tuesday the proposal is being considered at the highest level in government and no final decision has been taken on the matter. He said it was true that he and the ministry were not in favour of the proposal.
