If we are Naxals, so was Jaitley: AAP
Aam Aadmi Party hits back at Arun Jaitley for calling the party "urban Maoists."
BS Reporter New Delhi The Aam Aadmi Party today hit back at Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley for calling the party “urban Maoists.”
AAP senior leader Sanjay Singh said that Jaitely should look back in history. “He had been a part of the Jayaprakash Narayan movement in the state of emergency in 1975 when people took to streets. If he calls such a movement as Naxalism, then he should apologise in front of Indira Gandhi’s memorial for doing Naxalism during that period,” Singh said.
Jaitley had reportedly taken a dig at the AAP government in Delhi at the party’s core committee meeting at the Constitution Club on Wednesday, terming AAP as “urban Maoists”. He had also said that the party is controlled by the Congress party.
“Delhi is currently being ruled by a bunch of political mercenaries hired, supported and controlled by Congress party. The words and action of AAP leaders expose the fact that it is a Maoist outfit,” the BJP resolution had stated.
