Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Thursday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to "slap several false cases" against AAP leader Manish Sisodia to keep him in jail for a long time.
His comments came after the CBI registered an FIR against Sisodia and others in connection with the Delhi Government's Feedback Unit (FBU) which has been accused of doing political snooping.

The Lokayukta sleuths are preparing to file another case against BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa, accused in a bribe for tender case, regarding the accumulation of disproportionate wealth, sources said on Thursday.
Sources said that the Lokayukta authorities are upset over the fact that the prime accused in the case, Madal Virupakshappa has obtained bail, whereas the second accused in the case, his son, Prashath Madal has been jailed.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said the government has decided to hike the salaries of employees of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) and the Electricity Supply Companies (ESCOMs) in the state by 20 per cent.
He also said the employees of transport corporations will also get a raise of 15 per cent in their salaries.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri to appear before it on April 10 to tender an apology for his tweets against Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, S. Muralidhar.
In December last year, Agnihotri had apologised to the Delhi High Court for his remarks but it had deferred the hearing after recording his submission that he will remain present personally in court for the hearing on March 16.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday accused the government of instigating the Opposition and not letting Parliament function to avoid a discussion on the Adani issue and its "failures".
He also reiterated that there is no question of an apology over Rahul Gandhi's remarks in the UK.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued fresh summons to Sukanya Mondal, daughter of Trinamool Congress strongman Anubrata Mondal to be present at athe agency's New Delhi office for questioning in connection with the multi-crore cattle smuggling scam in West Bengal.
In the fresh summon issued on Thursday, she has been asked to be present at the ED headquarter by March 20.

The Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at some places linked to asset manager Franklin Templeton and its former and current executives in Mumbai and Chennai as part of a money laundering investigation, officials said.
The federal agency is looking to gather more evidence as part of its investigation against the company and its promoters under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), they said.

Cyber-security researchers from CloudSEK have claimed that a Russian hacker group targeted the Indian Health Ministry website and infiltrated its Health Management Information System (HMIS).
The pro-Russian hacker group called Phoenix allegedly compromised the HMIS Portal and had access to the data of employees and chief physicians of all the hospitals in the country, claimed the AI-driven cybersecurity company.

More than 700 COVID-19 cases were recorded in a day after a gap of over four months, taking the active caseload to 4,623, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.
The country had recorded 734 cases on November 12 last year.
Continuing with its recent upward trend, a total of 754 new coronavirus cases were reported in a span of 24 hours, while the death toll has increased to 5,30,790 with one fatality reported by Karnataka, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The Uttar Pradesh government will set up sewage treatment plants (STP) in every city with a population of over one lakh to cope with the growing population burden of the urban areas, officials have said.
Several schemes are being implemented to maintain cleanliness in the state and strengthen facilities in cities according to population. The state government has already set the target of having STPs for 70 per cent of Uttar Pradesh's population in the next two years.
