Nine Gurgaon students among winners of start-up competition at 'Happening Haryana'

Students from The NorthCap University, Gurgaon were among the top three winners in a start-up competition at the Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2016 which culminated on March 8, 2016.

In the preliminary rounds, over 300 students from about 50 colleges and universities from 21 districts of Haryana participated and pitched their ideas for start-ups. In the semi-finals held at the NorthCap University, Gurgaon, 10 teams were selected for the final round.

In the final round at Happening Haryana Summit the budding entrepreneurs pitched their innovative and fresh ideas. Investors have shown interest in funding the projects presented by the young entrepreneurs.

Team ‘Tag On’ comprising Shubham Dupta, Shubham Dawra, Shubhashree Das, Sidharth Saxena and Sugash Pandey from The NorthCap University and Prateek and Shweta from Manav Rachna stood first in the competition. ‘Tag on’ is a means to locate anything, lost baggage, person or even pets, and this has wide application at a low cost.

Team ‘Farm Net’ from IIM Rohtak secured the second position. ‘Farm Net’ is to connect farmers with corporate customers.

Team Bloodline comprising Vineet Gupta, Pranav Jain, Palash Chhabra and Artika Manchanda from The NorthCap University, Gurgaon and Shubhanshu Goyal from DCE got the third position. ‘Bloodline’ is an app interface between the blood donor and recipient. NASSCOM (The National Association of Software and Services Companies) supported the app as well as it got spot funding.

The winning teams were given a support of Rs 20,000 (to each team), trophies and certificate of recognition.
