The third day of the ongoing global meet on climate change also remained inconclusive, with its plenary session unable to adopt the report of the executive board of the clean development mechanism (CDM).

The board had suggested, among other things, simplification of the procedure for certifying small-scale CDM projects and commitment of more resources by developed countries to ensure a prompt beginning of the mechanism.

The board has already set up a panel for appointing operational entities to certify CDM projects. These entities will also certify the emission reduction targets achieved by these projects.
