Expo to focus on problems from excess rain

| It is expected to provide farmers a platform to air their grievances and get scientific guidance to overcome their problems. |
| While in some places there is a bumper crop, there has been a crop loss due to heavy rains in some places. Last year over 4 lakh farmers and extension workers visited Krishi Mela and interacted with farm scientists. |
| UAS vice-chancellor JH Kulkarni and director of extension and convenor of the mela L Krishna Naik told Business Standard that the exhibition of the latest farm equipment, demonstration of their functioning, informative sessions on organic farming, integrated pest management, horticulture development, land and water management, and agriculture marketing will be the special features. |
| Experts from various fields will interact with farmers and provide them necessary information. Dog show, cattle show, flower and fruit show will add flavour to the fair. |
| The UAS will select farmers from 12 districts coming under its purview for the best farmer and farmwoman award and present the awards at the concluding ceremony of the mela. |
| Discussion, special lectures, power point presentation and entertainment programmes will be the special attraction. |
