The portal developed by city-based Novedea Systems, an 18-month-old start-up IT company with offices in Hyderabad and Redmond in the US, was launched by the Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Addressing a press conference, Novedea directors Srihari Govindarajan and Suhit Anantula said that the vortal was a one-stop portal on BPO, catering to the needs of job seekers, BPO companies and service providers for the BPO sector.
Novedea plans to develop a BPO exchange to facilitate interaction and collaborations between the BPO companies in the country and the foreign companies outsourcing their services to India.
The website provides news on the industry, blogs and employment information. It also has white papers, research reports and news letters to provide comprehensive and latest information to all those associated with the BPO sector.
There is a separate blogs section for those working in the BPO sector, wherein one can share and disseminate information and experiences etc. Company-specific blogs are also enabled by the vortal.
According to Anantula, BPO outsourcing to India was estimated to be around $3.2 billion. The sector had created 2.6 lakh jobs in the country in the last one year.
